XV of : Florian Grill says no to a return of Jaminet and will follow justice for Auradou and Jegou

The day after his broad re-election (67.22% of the vote) at the head of the French Federation, Florian Grill confirmed this Sunday in the Grandes Gueules of RMC, his positions on the future within the XV of of Melvyn Jaminet, Oscar Jegou and Hugo Auradou, all three at the center of the excesses of the Blues’ disastrous tour of Argentina last July.

Melvyn Jaminet, who made racist remarks in a video on social networks, was suspended for 34 weeks by the Federation’s independent disciplinary committee in July. He could therefore potentially make his return to the French XV once his suspension is over. A possibility brushed aside by the president of the FFR. “It will be very complicated (to see him again in Blue), vis-à-vis the partners of the French team who have associated their brand with the image of rugby,” he explained, recalling that the player de was carrying the rooster on the video when he made his remarks.

“It may be a double punishment but I think that at some point, when we wear the rooster, when we represent France, there are things that we are not allowed to do. From my point of view, it will be very complicated. And for me, it’s no,” he continued.

Florian Grill, on the other hand, is much less definitive on the subject of Oscar Jegou and Hugo Auradou. The Rochelais and the Palois are still indicted for a rape of a woman in Argentina which allegedly took place during the same tour. “We waited for justice to take its course,” the president underlined. She first released them in Argentina, then she released them in France. Now we are waiting for a possible dismissal. We have been very clear, they will not play again until the case is dismissed. To play again in the French team, they will also need to have adequate sporting performance. » The dismissal hearing will take place on Friday October 25. Both players have maintained their innocence since the start of this affair. They acknowledge a consensual sexual relationship with the alleged victim but categorically deny any form of violence. The facts with which they are accused took place on the night of July 6 to 7 in a hotel in Mendoza, after a test match won by the Blues against the Pumas (28-13).
