three people isolated by the tide rescued in the Bricqueville-sur-Mer area

Due to the phenomenon of high tides, three people found themselves trapped and isolated this Saturday, October 19 near Bricqueville-sur-Mer.

The return of high tides surprised several people this Saturday, October 19 in the Channel. Three people found themselves isolated by the tide and required a rescue operation in the Bricqueville-sur-Mer area, announced the Channel and North Sea maritime prefecture.

Cross Jobourg engaged with the civil security Dragon 50 helicopter to airlift each of the people in danger. They were placed on land safe and sound.

Strong coefficients until this Sunday

The coasts of the department have been placed on yellow alert since Wednesday and until Sunday, October 20 due to high tidal coefficients. The maritime prefecture calls for the greatest caution and invites everyone entering the coast to consult the weather forecast and tide times.

“It only takes a few minutes to be surprised by the tide. Set an alarm and go up the foreshore 30-60 minutes after low tide,” she asks.

In 2023, 344 people found themselves isolated by the tide.
