Channel: 155 migrants were rescued at sea, off the coast of and Gravelines

Only a few hours after an infant dies during a shipwreckmigrants tried to reach England from the coasts of the North and Pas-de- this Friday. 155 people were rescued at sea. A first rescue took place during the night, near Calais. A boat was taking on water, three migrants were taken care of by emergency services and dropped off at the dock in Calais. The rest of the people on board remained on the boat and did not wish to be assisted.

Later in the morning, emergency services intervened off the coast of Gravelines. An overloaded boat was broken down. The engine was no longer responding. The 70 migrants on board were brought back to by the emergency services. At the end of the afternoon, a third very loaded boat was reported off Calais. Two migrants were in the water. Rescuers came to the aid of more than 70 people in this shipwreck, and dropped them off in Calais.

Once at the dock, the 155 rescued migrants were taken care of by the land rescue services and the border police.
