When you open the door to his store, he is in front of one of the 40 pinball machines installed in the large room of his business located in Saint-Philbert-de-Bouaine. Mathieu Prébendé has been installed in these premises for several months, this is the first time that he has finally been able to unpack all these machines. He takes several of them to salon Retroplay, which is taking place this weekend in Gâvre for its fifth edition, with thousands of people expected on site.
“Stars in the eyes”
This event brings pinball fans from all over the country, some even coming from abroad to discover rare machines that rarely come before the eyes of the general public. This reseller based in Vendée takes the opportunity to bring a limited edition, a pinball machine linked to the film Avatar. This will be its first major release at a show in France, it was only presented in the sum a few weeks ago during a confidential event.
“The main thing is to play, that people are happy and that the children leave with stars in their eyes”says Mathieu Prébendé while loading these pinball machines into a truck. It’s an event every two years that he doesn’t miss for anything, with an audience of all ages as described by Nicolas Linqué, aka Nicoflip. This other lovers of pinball machines, repairer also under his alias of young player, is delighted to cross the aisles of the show.
