Lucie Castets almost gave a new direction to her career: becoming a deputy for , replacing the elected representative of La insoumise (LFI) Hugo Prevost, accused of sexual violence, and who had announced his upcoming resignation. The candidate of the New Popular Front (NFP) for Matignon finally gave up competing for this partial legislative session which must be held in the first constituency of Isère by January 15, 2025.

Friday October 18, during a public meeting in Cahors, Jean-Luc Mélenchon, who obviously did not want to be accused of having sabotaged the candidate’s candidacy for Matignon, affirmed that the movement was “his disposition”. “We understand that she was chosen because there was consensus and she wants to stay in this role, that suits us,” he said, before making a concession, that of allowing her to sit, as “related”, in the same way as Aymeric Caron, deputy for , who has his own party, Ecological Revolution for the Living, or that… the elected representative of Seine-Saint-Denis, Jérôme Legavre, of the Independent Workers’ Party, the Trotskyist party which has become a satellite of LFI. The founder of LFI also suggested that he run in the Ardennes, where the RN deputy Flavien Termet has just resigned…
