The Department of Seine-et-Marne is organizing, for the second consecutive year, the Rando Nature & Citadine. This event will be held on Sunday October 20, 2024, with a departure from Rentilly parkin Bussy-Saint-Martin. Free and open to all, this event is a unique opportunity to promote the natural and cultural heritage of the north of the department.

Park, castles and ponds to discover during this hike

Echoing the success of the Hiking of the 3 castlesthe Nature & Citadine Rando is part of the Department’s desire to promote “the environmental and heritage wealth of the territory”. This family and friendly event offers participants the opportunity to discover remarkable sites of the Marne Valley and Gondoire.

Parks, castles, pondsand other points of interest will mark the routes, offering hikers an immersion in the diverse landscapes of Seine-et-Marne.

In order to allow a wide audience to participate, three routes of varying difficulty are offered from Rentilly park:

  • A journey of 8 km whose departure will be given between 11 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.;
  • A journey of 12 km the start of which will be at 9:30 a.m. if you do it by Nordic walking, otherwise meet at 10 a.m. for a classic walk;
  • The last course will measure 17 km. The start will be given between 8:30 a.m. and 9:15 a.m.

The two main courses are decorated with a point of refueling.

A health village to support participants

The health villageinstalled at the departure base at Rentilly Park, will offer an awareness and advice space around well-being and health. Health professionals will be present throughout the day to inform participants and offer them a muscle awakening with stretching supervised by Adapted Physical Activity teachers. They will also find nutritional advice provided by dietitians, mindfulness meditation advice with a sophrologist, others on women’s health prevention, with the participation of the Jossigny Health Centre, heart care, provided by doctors and nurses, awareness of life-saving actions and prevention space, a My health space stand in partnership with the CPAM. Services advisors will also be there to support participants with administrative questions.

“This initiative is part of the strategy of the Department of Seine-et-Marne to revitalize its territory by encouraging the practice of outdoor activities and highlighting its landscape and heritage assets. The Nature & City Walk is also intended to be a moment of cohesion, offering residents and visitors a privileged opportunity to better understand the often unknown riches of the north of the department,” declares Bouchra Fenzar-Rizki, vice-president in charge of sports.
