A car crashed on the Chaussée de la Lacra, near the Lautagne plateau in Valence, around 11:20 p.m. this Friday evening: its driver, a man around 40 years old, died instantly. He was driving downhill when the accident took place before the motorway toll booth. His car hit the guardrail and the man was thrown from his vehicle.
Witnesses were shocked by the violence of the accident. A young woman was notably transported to Valencia hospital for psychological treatment.
Another death on the roads of Drôme
This new fatal accident on the roads of Drôme brings the road safety toll to 32 deaths in the department since the start of the year. It is 27 for the whole of 2023. Faced with this alarming observation, the prefecture launched Friday October 11 a “Red Card” operationroad checks, day and nightfor ten days. This XXL operation must end this Sunday, October 20, at the start of the All Saints’ Day holidays.
