Ratification of several international agreements

This Friday in Rabat, His Majesty King Mohammed VI chaired a Council of Ministers of major importance, dedicated to the examination of the finance bill for the year 2025, as well as the approval of several decrees relating to the military sector. This meeting is part of the strategic orientations of the Moroccan State, aiming to strengthen both the financial stability and the international cooperation of the Kingdom.

According to an official statement from the spokesperson for the Royal Palace, the Council also ratified the ratification of several international agreements, reflecting Morocco’s commitment to intensify its bilateral and multilateral relations, particularly with African countries. Indeed, thirteen bilateral conventions were signed with six African countries within the framework of the Joint Commissions, held in Dakhla, in the Moroccan Sahara region. These agreements aim to strengthen trade in key areas such as reciprocal investment promotion, judicial cooperation, maritime fishing, tourism, and mutual administrative assistance in customs matters.

In addition to bilateral agreements, the Council adopted a set of 19 international conventions, including three major multilateral agreements. The latter mainly concern crucial issues linked to sustainable development and the conservation of marine biodiversity, in particular within the framework of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. In addition, the establishment of the headquarters was recorded permanent office of the Pan-African Institute for Development (IPD) in Dakhla, thus strengthening the strategic role of this city as a hub for African cooperation.

The Council also approved the facilities and advantages granted to the North Africa Regional Directorate and the National Office of the University Agency of La Francophonie in Morocco, consolidating the position of the Kingdom as a major player in scientific and academic cooperation in Africa.
