Haute-Loire. Smell of burning at the Allègre specialized reception center: it was a cigarette butt

During the night from Thursday to Friday, a burning smell was noticed by one of the employees on night watch in the structure of the Allègre specialized reception center, which accommodates 39 disabled people.

This required the intervention of the department’s firefighters. After an active search, a cigarette butt was found in a bathroom trash can.

Residents confined but not “disturbed”

More fear than harm, therefore. During the search, the residents were confined to their rooms, according to the emergency services on site, while awaiting the outcome of this nocturnal incident but “at no time were they in danger, nor disturbed and even less caused by panic” , according to Frédéric Rideau, director of establishments and services at APAJH-43. “The SDIS congratulated the professionalism of the monitoring team and the good application of safety instructions. »

Firefighters from Bellevue-la-Montagne, Allègre, Le Puy-en-Velay, Saint-Paulien, Craponne-sur-Arzon and Rosières were present at the scene of this intervention.
