Yellow alert for floods on the Oise and Aisne

The Oise department was placed on orange rain and flood alert on Thursday October 17, between 6 p.m. and midnight, by Météo . The weather watch was lifted at midnight. The two rivers which cross the east of the department, the Oise and the Aisne, are on flood yellow alert.

The phenomenon was very localized and affected 13 municipalities located in the south of the department, in which 184 interventions by firefighters took place. At the height of the event, 75 firefighters and 30 engines were mobilized, mainly in Nogent-sur-Oise (91 interventions) and Creil (33 interventions). Two people temporarily relocated

Three people were trapped by the rising waters, and were evacuated by firefighters, and two people from the same family were rehoused after a strong smell of fuel oil was noticed in their home. After checking, it turned out that this smell came from the overflow of an outdoor tank. No injuries were reported.
