Haute- placed on orange rain-flood alert

Météo has placed Haute- on orange rain-flood alert this Thursday at 4 p.m. Total rainfall could reach 60 mm in certain municipalities.

While six departments (Alpes-Maritimes, Ardèche, Haute-, Loire, Lozère, Rhône) are placed on red alert for dangerous phenomena of exceptional intensity, Météo France has placed two Limousin departments on orange alert.

Corrèze was placed on orange alert for thunderstorms, floods and rain-floods this Thursday at the end of the morning. Météo France then placed Haute-Vienne on rain-flood alert this Thursday at 4 p.m. until tomorrow, Friday October 18 at 6 a.m.

Significant rainfall accumulations

Heavy rains are expected to cause significant accumulations of up to 60 mm locally.

The Haute-Vienne prefecture would like to remind you of the following safety instructions:

– Move away from watercourses and low points. • Avoid travel if possible.

– Do not drive onto a submerged road, even partially.

– Keep your belongings out of water and locate your emergency kit.
