a multipurpose room and a new elementary school will be opened in 2025

The municipality of Trensacq and the Community of Communes Cœur Haute Lande have launched the construction of a multipurpose room as well as a new elementary school. Expected for 2025, these works will be located behind the town hall, on the edge of the Trensacq national forest, in the heart of the Landes de Gascogne Regional Natural Park.

The architecture of the buildings, with a total surface area of 535 square meters, is inspired by the traditional and cultural model of the Landes airial. Large volumes and beautiful openings will allow visibility and transparency over the forest landscape which surrounds the two structures. Basic in form, the single-slope roofs will be extended to provide covered outdoor spaces, courtyards and galleries.

The multipurpose room will be built to accommodate multiple uses, such as private and public events. Thanks to a flexible space, it will also be able to accommodate the school’s catering or the community’s associative activities. The elementary school, with an adjacent courtyard, will be built to promote a school environment connected to the surrounding landscape.

A meeting place

More than infrastructure, this project will offer spaces for social, cultural and educational life. Close to the town hall, this new centrality will become a place of meetings and exchanges for residents, thus strengthening the social fabric and local dynamics.

In a short circuit approach and the promotion of local resources, the sponsors have chosen to use wood from neighboring forests. Main material, it will be used visibly in structure and cladding, in order to respect the desire for landscape anchoring. The use of materials from the region not only reduces the carbon footprint of the project, but also supports the region’s economic players.
