The wellness area actually housed cannabis and tobacco trafficking. Six people, tried for their involvement in this network based in Avion (Pas-de-Calais), were sentenced by the Béthune judicial court on Wednesday October 9, 2024, reports The Voice of the North .
After an investigation lasting several months by the Lens police officers, the defendants were arrested on September 4. Investigations established that they had sold 30 kg of cannabis resin, 40 kg of weed and hundreds of kilos of tobacco in this so-called private spa, in a little over a year.
Tens of thousands of euros pocketed in just over a year
The man at the head of the traffic, aged 28, pocketed €45,000 thanks to tobacco and several tens of thousands of euros thanks to narcotics. He was sentenced to three years in prison, including one year suspended on probation. A sentence to which is added the revocation of a six-month suspended sentence. He was kept in detention following the hearing.
Four of his accomplices received sentences ranging from six to twelve months in prison, with a simple suspended sentence. The fifth was sentenced to 18 months in prison, ten of which were suspended for two years.
