The facts date back to August 26, when an altercation broke out between several people, as reported by our colleagues at La Presse de la Manche. During this fight, which occurred in the small village of Périers, a young man was injured by one or more stab wounds.
The victim was transported to Saint-Lô hospital, without his life threatening. “There was definitely an altercation between two people on one side and three people on the other. A young man was the victim of one or two stab wounds,” explained Colonel Lesage, again to our colleagues from La Presse de la Manche.
The two suspects kept in detention
After this violent fight, an investigation was opened in order to learn more about the circumstances of this attack and the identity of the perpetrators of these stabbings. It was therefore at the end of an investigation lasting several months that two people were finally arrested and presented to the Coutances court this Monday. The two alleged perpetrators of the attack are both 19 years old and live in Saint-Lô.
One of the two suspects was placed under judicial supervision for an ongoing attempted assassination case, while the second has already been convicted, on several occasions, for acts of theft and drug trafficking. In order to prevent the two men from coming into contact with the victim, they were kept in detention, pending the trial scheduled for November 18.
