Kenitra – Contemporary issues in public finance in Morocco were at the center of a conference held Tuesday in Kenitra, under the theme “Public finance between politics, economics and law”.

Speaking on this occasion, the Treasurer General of Morocco, Noureddine Bensouda, underlined the importance of the balance between political choices, economic constraints, and legal frameworks, noting the interconnection between politics, economy and law, as well as their impact on public finance management.

This conference aims to popularize the actions of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, highlighting the crucial role of the General Treasury of the Kingdom, he continued, indicating that the aim is to highlight the complex dynamics which shape financial policy in Morocco.

It is also a question of explaining the theme of public finances which reflects all public policies in essential areas such as education, health, social protection, infrastructure, environmental protection, among others, said Mr. Bensouda.

According to the General Treasurer of Morocco, these elements are materialized by figures which make it possible to analyze the budget as well as government decisions to respond to the demand of the population, while ensuring the sustainability of the budget in the long term.

The government attaches capital importance to the social aspect, by allocating significant budgets to social protection, he observed, noting that this results in the construction of university hospital centers across the Kingdom, the development of land proximity, improving transport and promoting mobility between regions.

These initiatives contribute, according to Mr. Bensouda, to guaranteeing an essential social balance and to strengthening the well-being of citizens.

This conference was an opportunity to emphasize the importance of public finance which reflects political choices and to focus on public finance and its connections with other disciplines.
