Joris Engisch, boss of Jean Singer et Cie, the company that stamps toilet breaks: “It’s the best alternative in terms of equality”

Joris Engisch did not expect this media attention. And yet. The company he manages, Jean Singer et Cie, 383 employees in the canton of Neuchâtel, manufacturer of watch dials since 1919, has been the subject of numerous comments for a week: its model, which consists of stamping any work interruption , including bathroom breaks, is now in the spotlight. RTS revealed that the Neuchâtel Cantonal Court ruled in favor of the company, against the Neuchâtel Office of Relations and Working Conditions (ORCT).

Since then, Joris Engisch has received insulting emails but also supportive telephone calls from bosses. He assumes his position, as he explains at time on the occasion of his first speech in the media on this subject.
