Construction waste: Ecominéro supports sorting centers in Seine-et-

In Seine-, 13 sorting centers* recycle waste from Building and Public Works (BTP) projects. They are all linked to Ecominéro. Chaired by Michel Andréthis mission-driven company with social and environmental objectives (non-profit) allows any holder of inert waste to have a local and recovery solution in the management of their waste. The aim is to encourage the free recovery of waste by ensuring a network of recovery points.

This eco-organization was créé and 2022 by industrialists and five professional unions in the mineral sector, so that they fulfill their obligations arising from the Extended producer responsibility (REP) resulting from the anti-waste law for a circular economy (AGEC). Implemented in May 2023, the REP aims for a recycling or recovery rate of 90% and reuse of 5% of waste by 2028 compared to 76% and 1% respectively currently.

5,500 collection points by the end of the year

To achieve this, Ecominéro has set itself six social and environmental objectives : participate in the prevention and reduction of illegal dumping, facilitate access to information, support construction stakeholders, contribute to the development of jobs, encourage the extension of the lifespan of buildings and promote approaches of corporate social responsibility (CSR).

Today, Ecominéro has more than 2,700 members for category 1 (inert materials), more than 3,200 collection points throughout the country and has already collected, recovered and recycled more than five million tonnes of inert waste by waste operators affiliated with its network. By the end of this year, a total of 5,500 collection points should be affiliated with Ecominéro and more than eight million tonnes of inert waste sustained.
