This portion is part of the legacy of the Games. It was specially produced ahead of the event in order to be able to open it before the competitions. It was put into service last July to allow spectators to use two wheels to access the events more easily.

A section of the Department’s bicycle plan

Richard Delepierre, vice-president of the Departmental Council responsible for Mobility, present at the inauguration, recalled that the creation of this gentle route is part of the 2022-2027 cycling plan of the Department of Yvelines. He also indicated that several other projects have been created along the D 912 between Galluis and Méré and Villiers-Saint-Frédéric.

“The Department’s desire is to develop secure and continuous routes to facilitate the daily mobility of Yvelin residents and thus encourage them to favor public transport and cycling,” he insisted.

Thanks to this additional connection, cyclists now benefit from a continuous route of 22 kilometers between the municipalities of La Queue-lez-Yvelines, Méré, Neauphle-le-Vieux, Jouars-Pontchartrain, , Elancourt and Trappes.
