In his speech, the President underlined the importance of breaking with past practices, evoking a collective desire to build a sovereign, just and prosperous Senegal. He expressed his determination to translate the aspirations of the people into action, while emphasizing the need for responsible and inclusive public governance.
“Vision Senegal 2050 is not only a strategic document, but a real social pact which aims to overcome divisions and promote a united and resilient nation,” he declared. The Head of State also recalled the challenges facing Senegal, notably an economy historically dependent on raw materials, and highlighted the urgency of local transformation and valorization of resources.
In presenting the broad outlines of the framework, he insisted on the creation of a dynamic industry and on support for young talents, often forced to seek opportunities abroad. The project also aims to strengthen the national private sector to face contemporary economic challenges.
The president concluded by calling for the unity of all Senegalese, both at home and abroad, to make this vision a reality. “Together, we can build a better future, anchored in the progress and well-being of every citizen,” he said, promising rigorous implementation of the measures planned as part of this initiative.
