President Faye calls on the Senegalese to engage in national construction | APAnews

Six months after the arrival of new authorities, Senegal launched its new public policy framework. The opportunity for Diomaye Faye to launch a call for citizen engagement.

The new framework, developed in six months and the result of collective reflection by Senegalese experts, outlines an ambitious national transformation agenda for the next 25 years, indicated Bassirou Diomaye Faye, who came to chair the presentation ceremony on Monday October 14 in Diamniadio. of the strategic document “Senegal 2050”.

The Head of State underlined the importance of breaking with old practices and redefining the classic patterns of the past. “This unprecedented choice established a collective desire to break, through hard struggle, with practices from another time,” he declared, putting forward an unprecedented political project, based on the values ​​of honor and of dignity.

Bassirou Diomaye Faye recalled his commitment, during his inauguration on April 2, 2024, to mobilize the Senegalese around a “unifying national project oriented towards a peaceful future”. Indeed, this project is embodied by the new public governance focused on the principles of transparency and recovery of “Jub-Jubal-Jubbanti” which, according to the president, reflect “the sacred will of the sovereign Senegalese people”.

Bassirou D. Faye also discussed the main axes of this new framework, structured around four pillars: a competitive and job-creating economy, sustainability and regional planning, strengthening of human capital and social equity, as well as good governance and African engagement.

He insisted on the need to develop the country’s natural resources, through local transformation and integration into global value chains, while prioritizing the promotion of sustainable management of natural resources.

On the international level, Bassirou Diomaye Faye reaffirmed his attachment to regional integration and cooperation with sister countries on the continent. “ The future of our continent rests on regional integration and solidarity “, he said.

Congratulating Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko for having successfully completed the development of the benchmark, the president urged his compatriots to be demanding of themselves and to actively engage in national construction. “ Each citizen must be demanding of themselves in their personal contribution to the work of national construction. », he launched to a round of applause, before calling for unity and collective commitment to build a “stronger, fairer and more prosperous Senegal”.
