TAS on the recruitment of project managers to the Presidency: “It’s the hated “System” that continues” – Lequotidien

Former MP Thierno Alassane Sall spoke out on the recruitment of dozens of young “Pastefians” to the Presidency of the Republic as mission managers. On the social network X, Mr. Sall denounces “bad nepotist practices”. “Dozens of recruitments of mission managers to the Presidency of the Republic on the eve of the legislative elections. While young people not enrolled no longer have hope and many of them only have “Barça or Baarsàq” as their only project. An implacable observation: bad nepotistic practices persist. Alioune Tine had spoken of “a Pastefian State”, but the reality goes beyond this formula. It is the hated “System” that continues. In the end, everything changes so that nothing changes. Terrible!”, he wrote on his X account.

In its weekend edition, Le Quotidien reported that several coordinators of the Patriotic Youth of Senegal (Jps), a movement affiliated with the Pastef party, were appointed mission managers to the Presidency of the Republic. These include, among others, the coordinators of the JPS of Kédougou, Saint-Louis, Koungheul, Diourbel, Tambacounda.

A practice at odds with the anti-system discourse advocated by the new leaders. On the eve of the anticipated legislative elections on November 17, it is a way of remobilizing the electoral base, in particular the young people who constitute the heart of Pastef and who continue to demand their nominations. In political practices in Senegal, the mission manager is a catch-all function, which only allows you to accommodate a political clientele. From Wade to Macky, and now Diomaye, we decided to use it to offer paid employment to activists or relatives.
