The adventure began in 2020, when Aurélien and Florian Delorme created Les Coteaux du Montois, and planted the plantation of 7,600 feet on a plot of one hectare located in Cessoy-en-Montois (Seine-et-Marne). Today, the 2023 harvest is on the tables and the two winemakers have just finished their 2024 harvest which will go to the cellars for several months.

Red wine and white wine and three different grape varieties

“We planted three different grape varieties, of vionnetof pinot noir a you chardonnaywhich allows us to produce red wine a you white wine“, explains Aurélien Delorme.

In 2022, a small harvest of grapes sold to a friend made it possible to create a wine called “The Unsuspected”. Since then, the two brothers have built their cellar in order to be able to be autonomous from the vine to the table: “2023 was our real first harvest, with white wine and red wine which can be purchased for the end-of-year celebrations. At the moment they are exclusively for sale au restaurant Les Sarrasins“, adds Florian Delorme.

Yet, climatic conditions of the last two years have not spared the grapes: “ Mildew notably reappeared even though it had disappeared for several decades,” he underlines.

The Coteaux du Montois are part of the union of winegrowers of Île-de-which allows them to have the European Protected Geographical Indication (IOP) label : “The objective is to tend towards a good organic oriented, and treat the vines with approved products bios if she needs it,” adds Aurélien Delorme.

Even if they are still learning how to work in the vineyard, the duo seeks to produce consistently good wines: “Even if sometimes we feel alone in this adventure, that does not stop us from continuing and doing good! », they conclude.
