It was a weekend that ended badly for no less than 500 passengers from two adjacent TGVs, having boarded in Nîmes this Sunday, October 13. Having just left the Nîmes-Centre station, around 9:30 a.m., this convoy found itself stopped in the open countryside, near Comps, after a technical problem.

Repair not possible

It quickly became clear that on-site repair was impossible. Invited to get off on the shoulder, the passengers had to wait until the arrival of a diesel locomotive from to tow the two trains.

The towed convoy

Around 2:30 p.m., the convoy was finally able to leave. Coupled to the front train, the locomotive was able to transport the two TGVs to the Nîmes-Pont-du- station, where the unfortunate travelers were able to resume their journey thanks to the connections.

The gendarmes of the Remoulins brigade community supported the SNCF services during the operations. The rest of the traffic was not impacted by this outage. A second traffic lane continued to operate normally during this incident.
