The royal speech, “a call to adopt professional and judicious management of parliamentary diplomacy”, says Rachid Talbi El Alami

The speech addressed to Parliament by King Mohammed VI, on the occasion of the opening of the 1st session of the 4th legislative year of the 11th Legislature, is a call to adopt professional and judicious management of parliamentary diplomacy to support the positive dynamic that the question of the Moroccan Sahara is experiencing, affirmed the President of the House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi El Alami.

In an interview with the Médi 1 television channel, Mr. Talbi El Alami stressed that the Royal Speech also called for reviewing the profiles of parliamentarians who represent Morocco in international parliamentary bodies, noting that the Directorate of External Relations and cooperation in the House of Representatives must be strengthened by new executives to support its international advocacy.

The Moroccan Parliament, he continued, is a member of 18 multilateral parliamentary forums in Europe, Latin America and Africa, noting that Morocco’s participation as an observer or full member in these forums “allows us to defend the national cause in a sustained manner.”

In this sense, he highlighted the qualitative evolution experienced by the national cause in light of the support provided by permanent member countries of the Security Council to Morocco’s sovereignty over its Sahara, like and the United States, recalling that many other countries have supported the Moroccan character of the Sahara, in official declarations, like Spain, or by opening consulates in the cities of Laâyoune and Dakhla.

The Royal Speech also called for explaining “the fundamentals of Morocco’s position to the small number of countries which continue to go against the logic of law and deny the facts of History”, relying on legal, political, historical and spiritual evidence and arguments, he concluded.
