This is one more step towards mobility in the Pays de . From November, the village of Boutigny will make available to these residents, bicycles and cars without a license.

This project is the result of a partnership with Wimoovan organization that supports communities, and especially rural areas, for more mobility, with a lower impact on the environment.

I was an investigator of Transport on Demand (TàD) in the Pays Créçois (Boutigny was part of the community of communes of the Pays Créçois until its dissolution in 2020, Editor’s note). In Meaux, the TàD now takes us to the station. Our young people use it a lot, it’s not just the elderly.

Jean-Michel Labranque, deputy mayor of Boutigny

The problem: some residents do not necessarily want to reach Meaux and its station. To go further, it was then necessary to find a solution allowing travel within the villages of the Pays de Meaux.

Electric bikes and cars for residents

“With Wimoov, we are working to put in place means of transport and thus help young people and older people alike” describes Jean-Michel Labranque. The village is a pilot commune in the Pays de Meaux conurbation to test this system.

In Boutigny, but also in the hamlets of Prévilliers and Magny-Saint-Loup Bicycle boxes will be provided. In each of them, two electric bikes, recharged using photovoltaic panels, will be stored and made available to the public.

The village, via Wimoov, also two electric carsof the Citroën Ami model, parked in front of the multipurpose room. “I tried them and it’s great, it will help the residents!” It will allow young people, associations… to move around more easily,” continues the deputy mayor, specifying that the village of Saint-Fiacre will also have electric cars and bicycles.

How to benefit from it?

The use of bicycles and cars is possible for all residents. Clarification however, cars are, quite naturally, accessible only from 16 years old.

To benefit from it, residents must simply bring their cell phone. “It will work with a system, like an application. You will have to scan a code near the cars which will open a key box. »

For rental, it costs 2 euros for two hours of cycling, 4 euros for half a day, and 7 euros for the day. To borrow the car, it’s a little more expensive. Residents will have to pay 10 euros per half day, 15 euros per day.
