The suspense in Ixelles could well be this: will Christos Doulkeridis manage to remain Mayor? And will it make Ixelles the last bastion of Ecolo, which we know to be devastated in Brussels as elsewhere? The green electorate will be able to rely on outgoing aldermen (Audrey Lhoest, Yves Rouyet) but also Zakia Khattabi, who is pushing the list.
So who to take up the gauntlet? DéFI (Alexandra Philippe) will not be strong enough any more than Les Engagés-ObjectifXL (Geoffroy Kensier). There remains therefore, on the left, the PS of Romain De Reusme, which also counts on the ex-minister and new federal deputy Caroline Désir. And on the right, the MR of Gautier Calomne who, if he is in full swing following the regional elections in June 2024, does not have any high-sounding names on his list apart from the one who pushes it, Viviane Teitelbaum.
Gilles Marot’s PTB, for its part, failed to put together an entire list in Ixelles.
