This Saturday, October 12, the mayor of Montpellier canceled the celebration of a wedding following violations of the Highway Code committed by part of the procession, on quads and motorcycles.
“There is no question that the public authority will accept such actions”. In a message published this Saturday, October 12 on X, the mayor of Montpellier, Michaël Delafosse announces that he has canceled the celebration of a wedding which was to be held that day. Reason: “multiple violations of the Highway Code with quads and motorcycles”committed by “part of the procession, in a deliberate manner and endangering the safety of others.”
On the A709 motorway and the Zénith roundabout
“In addition to the cancellation of the celebration, complaints will be filed”adds the mayor. These criminal acts occurred on the A709 motorway, south of the city, as well as at the Zénith roundabout, nearby. Some vehicles also had their registrations hidden.
Michaël Delafosse had already had the celebration of a wedding canceled for the same reasons, in September 2023. The events occurred in the same places as this Saturday, October 12. On the Zénith roundabout, members of the procession had parked and lit smoke bombs.
