Floods: no more departments on red alert, three departments on orange alert

Last department in red flood vigilance, Seine-et- was downgraded this Saturday morning to orange vigilance, in the latest Météo bulletin. Eure-et-Loir and Loir-et-Cher are still on orange flood alert for Saturday and Sunday. Météo France notes this morning a “general trend towards recession and the propagation of floods downstream everywhere. »

“On Saturday, the weather situation is relatively calm in flooded watersheds. The rains forecast for Saturday are light in the north of the country and should not counteract the decreasing trend upstream of the rivers. In these conditions, the current floods continue their slow propagation downstream,” summarized Vigicrues in its 6 a.m. bulletin.

The floods of recent days have particularly affected the watercourses of the Grand Morin and the Loir upstream. After flooding in several municipalities, “the flood peaks have passed on these two sections where the trend is now towards recession”, specifies the organization.

“Significant” flooding still possible

“Significant” flooding still remains possible this Saturday. The Loir upstream and the Loir Vendômois therefore remain on orange alert until Sunday, as well as the Grand Morin downstream and the Eure upstream. In this last area, a “potential new rise until the night of October 12 to 13” is expected “due to the propagation of the flood wave from upstream. »
