King Mohammed VI reaffirms Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara and thanks

In a speech delivered at the opening of the fourth legislative session, King Mohammed VI highlighted the significant progress obtained by Morocco in the Sahara issue, while reaffirming the Kingdom’s unwavering position on this crucial issue. This speech is part of the continuity of the diplomatic efforts deployed by Morocco to strengthen its territorial integrity and assert its historical rights.

One of the highlights of the royal speech was the mention of the official recognition by the French Republic of Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara. King Mohammed VI warmly thanked and its President Emmanuel Macron for this clear and explicit support, which constitutes an important step in the resolution of this regional conflict. This recognition, coming from an influential country and permanent member of the UN Security Council, gives significant political weight to the Moroccan position on the international scene.

A major step forward for Moroccan diplomacy

The sovereign stressed that this French support reinforces Morocco’s ongoing efforts to defend its sovereignty and its legitimate rights over the Sahara. He recalled that the Kingdom has always worked with determination and patience to advance the national cause, despite an often difficult international context. France’s recognition thus adds to the support already obtained from other world powers, notably the United States.
