New York – Under the visionary and strategic leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Morocco continues to consolidate its historical legitimacy and its intangible sovereignty over its southern provinces, underlined the American expert, Samuel Millner.

In a statement to MAP, this researcher at the George Mason Law Center for the Middle East and International Law, noted that Morocco’s recent diplomatic breakthroughs in the Sahara issue provide information on an avant-garde approach, driven by a commitment without fault of His Majesty the King to the sacrosanct principles of sovereignty and justice, as well as to the virtues of regional integration and stability.

Mr. Millner, who was reacting to the speech of His Majesty the King on the occasion of the opening of the autumn session of Parliament, cited in this regard the growing international consensus around the Moroccan nature of the Sahara and the plan to autonomy as the “one and only” solution to put an end to this regional dispute.

Commenting on the unequivocal support of influential countries, particularly in Europe, for the national sovereignty of the Kingdom over its Sahara, such as and Spain, the expert spoke of a “broader realignment” of European foreign policy which establishes the preeminence of the Moroccan autonomy initiative as “the only path to peace” and the only solution to this artificial conflict.

While demonstrating increased mobilization and vigilance to reinforce this innovative international dynamic around the Moroccan Sahara, the Kingdom continues, with determination, its march of construction and development in the southern provinces, through effective strategies also focused on the prosperity of the entire region, further underlined the American expert.

And to conclude that the Royal initiatives aimed at transforming the Moroccan Sahara into a “crossroads” of trade in Africa and beyond demonstrate once again that “the future of the region rests on the national sovereignty of Morocco” over the its entire territory.
