Floods: two departments kept on red alert, four in orange after the passage of storm Kirk

The situation remains tense and under surveillance this Friday morning. Seine-et- and Eure-et-Loir are kept on red alert by Météo , Aisne, , and Loir-et-Cher on orange alert.

Red vigilance is synonymous with “risk of major flooding” with “direct threat” to the safety of people and property.

The storm required 3,700 interventions by firefighters, Prime Minister Michel Barnier said on Thursday, assuring that the State will be present “in the post-crisis management” of these “very serious” events.

In Seine-et-Marne, placed on red flood alert from Wednesday afternoon, the Grand Morin, a tributary of the Marne, burst out of its bed, submerging fields, businesses and roads in places, and flooding the stadium, a factory and houses in the town of Pommeuse.
