Dakar, Oct 10 (APS) – At 19, Hapsatou Malado Diallo made the history of Senegalese women’s football by becoming the first player in the country to have played a European Champions League match with her Turkish club Galatasaray.

Born in Tambacounda (east), Hapsatou Malado Diallo started her career there in a team playing in the second division.

In 2019, she joined the country’s first division, joining the Aigles de la Medina club in Dakar. Shortly after, she signed a contract with the Union sportif des Parcelles assainies with which she won the Senegal Cup and the championship in 2022.

The same year, Diallo joined the national A team, after playing in the under-17 and under-20 ranks.

Author of six goals with the seniors, she played in the second African Nations Championship in the history of Senegal in 2022, after that of 2012.

Senegal was eliminated in the quarter-finals by Zambia, on penalties (5-4), after a draw (1-1) at the end of regulation time. During its first participation, the team was eliminated in the group stage.

In 2023, Hapsatou Malado Diallo wins the women’s zone A tournament of the Union of West African Football Federations (UFOA). She finished as the competition’s top scorer with nine goals.

In September 2023, she signed a two-year contract with Spanish club Eibar. After 11 months, ten matches played and one goal scored, she was loaned to Galatasaray for a season.

On September 4, 2024, Diallo played his first match with the Turkish club, during the victory (4-1) in the first preliminary round of the Champions League against Racing Luxembourg of the Netherlands. She had returned to the 56e mn.

Holder against Shymkent (Kazakhstan), she scores a hat-trick (8e66e,94e min) during his team’s big victory (5-0).

She participated in the first and second preliminary round matches against Slavia Prague (Czech Republic).

Hapsatou Malado Diallo played his fifth match of the season against Lyon this Tuesday. Returning in the 66th minute, his club lost heavily against the French team, eight times European champions.
