Under the presidency of Philippe Leclant and the artistic direction of Sylvain Sartre, the eleventh edition of the early music festival in Pic Saint-Loup & Gorges de l’Hérault comes to enchant autumn from Friday October 11 to Sunday October 20. Faithful to his tradition of roamingthis musical journey, organized by the Muses in dialogue, travels through the territory, with four concerts and a conferenceto meet of the Hérault heritage and its inhabitants.

Several highlights

Among these meetings, the festival opens with thetribute to musician Scott Ross on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of his death, Friday October 11 at the Château d’Assas with the surprise concert by harpsichordist Pierre Hantaï and the conference (free, upon reservation on the website) on Saturday October 12 from Nicolas Bomsel at the harpsichord workshop of Martine Argeliès, in . Then meet on Sunday October 13 in Gignac, with the Clématis ensemble and “ Three violins for three kings », an Italian musical painting in London in the 17th century.

On Saturday, October 19, the setting of the Church of the Nativity of Saint-Jean-Baptiste, in Saint-Jean-de-Buèges, welcomes lutenist Mónica Pustilnik and baritone Lisandro Abadiein a program of “Mad Songs”. These English melodies taken from the popular repertoire bring together poetry and theater to create a strong emotional experience Finally, another highlight, at the end of this festival, such an ode to peace: the concert of the Canticum Novum ensembleon Sunday October 20 in Saint-Martin-de-Londres, which, with nine musicians on stage, celebrates 13th century Spain and its three Arab, Sephardic and Spanish cultures.
