Gard A brioche = a donation!

Unapei 30 is a non-profit association of parents and friends working for the representation and defense of the interests of people with intellectual, psychological, autism and multiple disabilities and their families.

With a presence in three basins in the department (Alès, Bagnols-sur-Cèze and Nîmes), Unapei 30 is the first parental association in Gard. Supported by more than 600 employees, it manages medico-social establishments providing reception, care and professional integration for nearly 1,000 children and adults affected by disabilities.

Operation Brioches can take place every year thanks to the mobilization of volunteers, municipalities, CCAS, businesses and commercial brands. But actually, what is the brioche operation? “ During this week, our volunteers will set up collection stands in Alès, Bagnols-sur-Cèze, Nîmes, Uzès and the surrounding villages. The Gardois will thus be able to find the famous solidarity brioches on the markets, in town halls, institutions, hospitals, schools and shopping centers and support Unapei 30 by making a donation », explains Chirstian Rougier, the Gard president of Unapei.

A flagship event of Unapei 30, the brioche operation allows the collection of donations necessary for associative action. The funds collected contribute to the realization of projects (construction, renovation, acquisition of equipment, cultural actions) in favor of people living with disabilities supported by the 28 establishments and services in Gard. “ For example, public generosity over the last two years has made it possible to finance the installation of three interactive whiteboards in three classes at a medical-educational institute or even the intervention of clowns in five of our establishments. This money was also used for an artistic residency in a medical care establishment and the production of a film retracing the project. »

These actions, necessary for the development of people with disabilities supported by Unapei 30, could not have been carried out without the donations collected. In addition to fundraising, the brioche operation also allows a meeting with the general public and awareness of the issues encountered by people living with a disability and their loved ones (educational and professional inclusion, accommodation, access to leisure activities, etc.).

The Unapei 30 can also count on the faithful support of Michel Kayser during this operation. The two-star chef opens the doors of his establishment to the association for a gala dinner to close the Bbioches operation, Thursday November 21. The funds collected from the sale of tickets will be added to the total amount from public generosity for 2024.
