Kirk Depression: Meurthe-et- placed on flood alert

Great caution. The department of Meurthe-et- is placed on flood alert by Météo this Wednesday October 9, 2024. Heavy rain is expected due to the passage of the Kirk depression over the North and East of France. It is the section of the Chiers upstream in the Pays-Haut which is affected by the alert.

The prefecture of Meurthe-et-Moselle indicates that flooding is possible. State services are also warning of the deterioration of traffic conditions but also of the risk of power cuts.

“Do not use submerged paths”

Consequently, the prefecture calls the residents concerned “not to use submerged routes, to respect the diversions put in place”. In areas usually subject to flooding, state services in the department also advise securing property likely to be damaged and monitor rising water levels.

Orange vigilance also concerns the neighboring department of Meuse.

You can track the alertness status on the Vigicrue website.
