SNCF: gradual resumption of TER traffic in Hauts-de- after cable theft at Flandres station

TER circulation will gradually resume this Wednesday from 4 p.m., SNCF announces on its X account. “Work carried out by SNCF Réseau made it possible to resolve the incident”, specifies the railway company, but the traffic “will remain disrupted until the end of the day. Traffic on the high-speed line is normal.”

SNCF traffic has been largely disrupted in Hauts-de- since the beginning of the morning following the theft of around ten cables near . Although TGV circulation is normal, many TER trains have been canceled.

Contacted, the SNCF explained to France Bleu that the theft of cables occurred at the entrance to the stationhence the significant disruptions observed this Wednesday morning.

The number of trains affected has not been communicated. On X, the TER Hauts-de-France account clarified in the morning that the installation of replacement coaches was “not possible given the scale of the disruption”. Eurostars are not affected by the incident.

Transport Minister François Durovray condemned “this act of sabotage at the Lille Flandres station which penalizes the French and attacks the Northern railway network”. He clarified on X that “the restoration of TER traffic is planned for this afternoon” and invited travelers “to postpone their journey as far as possible”.
