A florist from -Atlantique fights for her daughter who, in vain, fought cancer for 7 years

Emmy Marivain, 11 years old, died on March 12, 2022 after making her mother, a former florist in -Atlantique, promise to “to go to the end” (lemonde.fr). The little girl battled cancer for 7 years. She passed “468 days in the oncology department of University Hospital”.

“My daughter didn’t get sick by chance”

So Laure Marivain, the mother, goes all the way: this Wednesday, October 9, 2024, she will have a hearing before the Court of Appeal.

In the newspaper The WorldLaure Marivain explains that her daughter “didn’t get sick by chance” : She was a florist from 2004 to 2008; then flower representative in from 2008 to 2011. And, always according to information from Monde and the investigation unit of Radio Emmy Marivain is “the first child whose death is recognized by the Pesticide Victims Compensation Fund (FIVP)”.

Why in court this Wednesday, October 9?

The family obtained recognition of the link between pesticide exposure and leukemia in July 2023. They obtained compensation which according to them “does not take into account all of their suffering and harm”.

Compensation that the Loire couple is contesting this Wednesday, October 9 before the Court of Appeal in Rennes: “It’s as if Emmy and her family hadn’t suffered all these years”comments François Lafforgue, their lawyer.

Gathering

In support of the family, the Phyto-Victimes association is calling for mobilization this Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at 1 p.m. in front of the Court of Appeal, Place du Parlement in Rennes. The hearing begins at 2 p.m.
