The establishment responded to HLN to provide an update on this matter. According to the principal, it all started with a discussion around inappropriate behavior by the student in question. The situation then got worse. Several times, the teacher appears to ask the student if he was planning to hit him. Finally, the teenager asked him if he could do it and ended up doing so. The violent punch was immortalized by another student who filmed the scene.
“It is a real shame that these images are circulating and we therefore ask that they no longer be broadcast,” commented school director Werner Nevels. “During a discussion, the student suddenly lashed out and hit the teacher in the face,” he further confirms.

According to management, both the teacher and the student are in shock. “The teacher is unable to work for a while and is of course shocked, because you don’t expect something like this. The student is taken care of,” said Werner Nevels.
HLN specifies that the student was suspended as a precaution. The police are also carrying out the investigation and declare for their part that “the student must be questioned and a report will be drawn up”.
