Investigators from the General Directorate of Internal Security arrested three people in Haute-Garonne who were planning violent action.
The terrorist threat is very present. According to information from AFP, three people, including two of Afghan nationality, were arrested this Tuesday in the Haute-Garonne department. According to the first elements of the investigation, they were planning violent action.
Investigators from the General Directorate of Internal Security (DGSI), who acted as part of an investigation opened by the National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor’s Office, arrested these people very early this Tuesday morning in Toulouse and Fronton, a town in the north of the Pink City. They were supported by men from the specialized Raid unit.
According to initial information, the arrest may have taken place following the receipt of information.
The National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor’s Office “confirms the arrest this morning of 3 individuals in the Toulouse region as part of a preliminary investigation opened by the PNAT for participation in a criminal association with a view to preparing one or more crimes of “attacks on persons referred to in 1° of article 421-1 of the Penal Code”.
