death of a 26-year-old hunter during a hunt in Haute-Savoie

Despite the intervention of the Chamonix high mountain gendarmerie platoon, the 26-year-old victim succumbed to his very serious injuries.

A fall described as “accidental”. A 26-year-old hunter died this Sunday, October 6 after fatally falling from a rocky ledge located between the communes of Arâches-la-Frasse and Magland, north of Chamonix in the department of Haute-Savoie.

As Bleu indicates, it was around 1 p.m. that the PGHM (high mountain gendarmerie platoon) from Chamonix intervened on site, supported by the Choucas 74 helicopter. Despite this intervention, the young man, whose body was found off the hiking trails, had already succumbed to his very serious injuries.

“It was an accidental fall in the middle of a hunt,” the Bonneville prosecutor’s office reported to the same media.

In an article dedicated to this disappearance, ODS Radio emphasizes the dangers faced by hunters and walkers who venture into the mountains, specifying that the victim was “from the area”. “Good preparation and knowledge of the terrain, particularly in areas that are difficult to access” is essential, it is indicated.
