The Haute-Garonne department lists 270 book boxes listed on a geographical map, a literary and almost initiatory journey. In Eaunes, the Vivallivres book box, open near a supermarket, fills up regularly thanks to generous donations from the public. “It’s this proximity to earthly and spiritual foods that appeals to me so much,” says Marie-Christine with relish. “It’s a celebration to open the book box and an adventure! Next to it, we buy cheese and fruit and enjoy all at home.”
The classics graduate is enthusiastic: “I’m ashamed, I even come there from a neighboring hairdressing salon, while applying hair dye, with silver paper wrappers on my head .” This generosity expressed in the donation of books through dedicated boxes can be found in Villate, Lagardelle-sur-Lèze and elsewhere. It flows and infuses daily life because happy finds can be given as gifts. “The feat of two children in a helicopter in a 1955 edition, I will offer it to an airline pilot!”
