The fire broke out in a garage for reasons still undetermined before quickly spreading to a first house, completely ravaged by flames, and then to the second house, the two homes being adjoining. A room upstairs and the garage were burned for the latter.

Significant resources were committed to put an end to the disaster with around thirty firefighters engaged from the barracks of Saint-Pierre, Eteaux, Bonneville and , the gendarmerie and the town hall also being on site. Four hoses, including one on a ladder, were ultimately necessary to contain the fire at the end of the afternoon.

No casualties have been reported, the damage remains material, the two families who were in the houses were able to be relocated by relatives.
