It inevitably caught the eye of residents of the 18th arrondissement of Paris. This Thursday, October 3, 2024, Enedis installed its new electrical transformer in the Colaincourt source station.

A new tool which must “modernize and make the network more reliable”

To reach the 18th arrondissement, this large steel container 70 tons had to wait, since he left Germany on August 30. He only arrived in the port of Tolbiac (13th) on September 30. So how can we explain this month-long journey?

“Enedis has chosen a river and non-road transport : a saving of 4.3 tonnes of C02”, assures the company in a press release. “The last kilometer to the source station of Caulaincourt was carried out in exceptional convoy“, assures Enedis.

“More ecological, autonomous, economical and efficient”this electrical transformer must make it possible to “modernize and make the public distribution network more reliable while reducing its carbon impact on the environment,” explains Enedis in a press release.
