, … These cities which are organizing gatherings in tribute to the victims this Sunday

One year to the day after the tragic Hamas attacks against Israel, several French cities are organizing commemoration ceremonies on Sunday and Monday to pay tribute to the victims and express solidarity with the families of the hostages.

One year after the Hamas attack on Israel, remembers. , , , … in many cities in France, tributes will multiply to mark this day of October 7.

In Paris, it is at the Dôme de Paris that a major ceremony will take place on Monday evening in support of the hostages still held in Gaza, organized by the Representative Council of Jewish Institutions of France (Crif). In the presence of the head of government Michel Barnier, the event should bring together several other ministers, parliamentarians, personalities from the world of culture as well as several thousand people.

The Prime Minister will also participate in a private meeting with the families of the French victims before attending this solemn ceremony.

In Lyon (Rhône), it is at 10 a.m., Place Bellecour, that residents are called to meet. Organized by Crif AURA, the tribute around this first anniversary of the deadly attacks will focus on the memory of the victims and solidarity with Israel.

An artistic tribute and a silent march

The commemoration will take on an artistic dimension in Nice (Alpes-Maritimes). On Castle Hill, at 11:30 a.m., a work will be unveiled at the memorial to the victims of terrorism. A symbolic event in a city which itself has been hit by terrorism.

In Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône), the commemoration will take place in the form of a silent march. Organized by the city’s Jewish Consistory, this march in tribute to the victims of October 7 will begin at 5 p.m. Participants will gather in meditation to honor the memory of the deceased and reaffirm their support for the families of the victims.

In parallel with these public ceremonies, President Emmanuel Macron will receive on Monday afternoon at the Élysée the families of the two French hostages still held in Gaza.
