Bakel, Oct 5 (APS) – The prefect of the Bakel department, Daouda Sène, assured, Saturday, that the concept “ubbi tay, diang tay” will be a reality at the level of the commune of Bakel, estimating that all conditions are gathered for an effective return to school on Monday.
“In view of what we observed on the ground, we are able to say that at the level of the municipality of Bakel, we will do oubi tey diageu tey,” he declared.
The administrative authority spoke at the middle school (CEM Bakel commune), on the occasion of the 5th of the cleaning day dedicated to weeding schools.
Previously, the prefect had visited CEM Grimpalé and school 3 in Bakel.
“(…)After these three steps, my fears dissipated. On the 3 sites, 98% of the work has been done. We are two days before the start of the school year, and if we are at this level of execution, I think it is very satisfactory,” reassured Daouda Sène.
This 5th edition is marked in Bakel by the presence on the ground of defense and security forces, SONAGED agents and those of the Great Green Wall.
“After visiting these three sites, we noted that most of the men and women mobilized are state civil servants who are not from Bakel and yet these establishments are frequented by the sons and daughters of Bakel,” said noted the prefect.
He thus deplored this lack of involvement of the populations of Bakel, inviting “the communities of this department to take greater ownership of these operations which are local concerns”.
“But there is hope. I found the president of the zone and the president of the municipal youth council with whom I spoke and they assured me of their full commitment and availability to work with their base, particularly the ASCs, to remedy this situation” , indicated Daouda Sène.
