The French Institute of Morocco unveils its new cultural season

By inviting artistesbut also scientistsof the archaeologists or astrophysiciststhis program wants to combine knowledge to focus on both the origins of life and the ecological challenges which affect our societies and present artistic proposals which outline a more united and common future, indicates theFrench Institute of Morocco in a press release.

With issues as diverse as the preservation ofeauthe energy transition or the preservation of the biodiversitythis new cultural season is at the heart of the major issues underlying the exceptional partnership between the France and the Morocco. It highlights this common commitment of the two countries in favor of a climate governance more resilient in the face of current dynamics, and which involves concerted actions and reinforced cooperation, continues the same source.

The director of the IFM, Agnes Humruzianstressed that the theme of life, particularly in its ecological dimension, constitutes a major subject for societies and youthadding that “this is a subject on which the French Institute is very committed and which is at the heart of numerous collaborations with Moroccan partners, artists, schoolsTHE associationsTHE intellectualsscientists”.

Shows and artistic performances

• In the middle of the lands of compagnie Gdraa show designed in collaboration with artists and scientists to explore the Mediterranean and tackle powerful themes likeecologyl’exile or the migrations.
• Extremophile, play scientist who talks about oceansassociating the specialist in microbiology Bernard Ollivier and theauthor Alexandra Badea.
• Feuwhere the choreographer Fouad Boussouf pays tribute to the women who marked his childhood in Morocco.
• The spectacle Paradesthrough which Olivier Dubois et Taoufiq Izeddiou question human nature in the company of 100 Moroccan neophyte dancers of all ages and physical conditions on stage.

Expositions

• Exhibition taken from the famous Comic book “The Endless World” of Christophe Blain et Jean-Marc Jancovicitranslated into Arabic by Les Éditions Le Fennecand which addresses the issues of energy transition and the climate change.
• Exposition Oasis of photographer Seif Kousmate which tells the story of the ecological, economic and social issues of the oases of Morocco today.

Movie theater

• The “Plan Large” cinematographic program each year offers the best of Moroccan, French and international cinemahighlighting within the framework of Le Vivant several productions such as Indivision in the presence of the director That’s ChinaTHE short films of Sofia El Khyari in his presence or even the projections of “Animal” of Cyril Dion as well as “the animal” of Sofia Alaoui.
• The IFM also celebrates the career of the director Dalila Ennadre through a retrospective on tour across the Kingdom, during which Lilya Ennadre exchanges with the public around his mother’s cinematographic universe.

Musique

• “Acanthis“, a musical project that brings together the Quartet Zahira quartet of saxophones renowned, and the Bird Singerstwo virtuosos of chant imitatif ; a unique collaboration which gives birth to music where the harmonies of the saxophones mingle with the melodious songs of birds.
• Nights of Ramadan which highlights the Moroccan and French musical scenes on the occasion of Ramadan.
• Aita my loveproject led by Widad Mjamaone of the first female rappers in Morocco and Khalil Epia duo that revisits the Aïtaa popular musical tradition from Morocco.
• The celebration of Amazigh New Year with the duo Sarah and Ishmael which highlight ancestral Amazigh culture.

Conferences and debates

• The flagship meeting for debate and intellectual exchange “Philosophy Meetings” which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year with the theme of the Universal in tension Rabat, Casablanca, Fez et Marrakech.
• The eco-citizen event “Tomorrow from today” dedicated to environmental issues on a national scale.
• The Young Leaders Forumwhich brings together each year around a hundred young citizens committed to building the future of the Mediterranean area, will have as its theme A shared sea and will focus on the resources of the oceans, seas and their coastlines.
