In video – The Order of the Solar Temple, the collective suicide which turned the whole of French-speaking Switzerland upside down

Published on October 5, 2024 at 09:56.

At dawn on October 5, 1994, the police were called to a fire in Cheiry, a small village in Broye, Friborg. She discovered 23 half-charred bodies in the basement of a farm. A few hours later, 160 km away, the hamlet of Granges (Salvan), in Valais, discovered a similar horror scene. Twenty-five bodies were found in two chalets.

The case has aroused international interest in our generally rather peaceful regions, where even the police and investigating judges are overwhelmed by events.
