The appointment of Frédérik Boisvert ratified by the board of directors of the CCIQ

We now know the new leader of the Quebec Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIQ). This is Frédérik Boisvert, a former special advisor to former Prime Minister Stephen Harper. His appointment was announced on Friday.

Mr. Boisvert will replace Steeve Lavoie who announced his departure last July. The new president and CEO of the CCIQ is currently general director of the Victoriaville Economic Development Corporation, as well as president of the Centre-du-Québec Regional Economic Development Association.

Mr. Boisvert also held the positions of vice-president, public affairs, of Chantier Davie, senior advisor at Tesla RP, as well as special advisor to the former Prime Minister of Canada, Stephen Harper, as well as chief of staff , policies and communications for federal ministers.

Established in Quebec for several years, he completed his university studies there and lives there with his family. Mr. Boisvert holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from University as well as a master’s degree in public administration from ÉNAP.

“I am very pleased to announce the choice of Mr. Boisvert as President and CEO. His extensive experience in economic development, particularly in the industrial sector, will be an important asset for our members. We are convinced that his arrival will allow the CCIQ to further take its leading position in the regional economic ecosystem,” said Nicholas-P Pedneault, chairman of the board of directors, in a press release.

With its 215 years of history, the CCIQ is not only one of the largest chambers of commerce in Quebec and Canada, but also a key player in the Capitale-Nationale region. It is with enthusiasm that I will ensure the defense and promotion of the interests of business people so that the CCIQ is their voice and the economic development of our beautiful region,” said Mr. Boisvert.

The appointment of Mr. Boisvert was ratified by the board of directors of the CCIQ. He will take up his position on November 1st.
