King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium on a state visit to on October 16

The King and Queen of Belgium will be on a state visit to for three days in October. They will pass through on October 16, and will be received by Martine Aubry at the town hall.

A royal visit. King Philippe of Belgium will be visiting Lille on October 16, BFM Grand Lille learned from the Belgian Royal Palace, confirming information from Belgian media. He will be welcomed by Mayor Martine Aubry at town hall, around 1 p.m. that day.

A large lunch, bringing together between 300 and 400 guests, and a visit to Euratechnologies are planned. If the agenda is not yet clearly established, it will notably be a question of Franco-Belgian cross-border cooperation. A passage through the Northern prefecture is also envisaged.

A state visit to France

This visit to the northern city is part of a state trip by King Philippe and Queen Mathilde to France, from October 14 to 16. The royal couple will first be received in on October 15 and 15, before going to Chantilly then Lille on the 16th.

A press release from the Royal Palace, relayed by our Belgian colleagues, mentions diplomatic but also “cultural, academic and economic” meetings. “High representatives of the federal, regional and community governments” will be present with the King and Queen.
