The Metropolis of Lyon organizes for the first time a Food Festival baptized the MIAM Festival. The latter will take place from October 12 to 27, 2024. An event focused on sustainable food issues and highlighting local initiatives.
140 activities offered
During these two weeks, the MIAM Festival will highlight local agriculture, focusing on short circuits as well as organic, local and seasonal supplies. The event will also celebrate “homemade” cuisine made from quality products. Thanks to the involvement of numerous partners, more than 140 events will be offered: tastings, farm visits, meetings with producers, cooking and gardening workshops, walks, conferences, exhibitions, screenings and film debates.
This rich and diverse program will allow curious people of all generations to explore the benefits of healthy, local and sustainable food.
“I am delighted that this event, which is fully in line with the agricultural and food strategy of the Metropolis, will allow as many people as possible to discover the benefits of sustainable and local food for health and thus contribute to changes in eating and eating behaviors. to consumption patterns”, declared Jeremy Camusvice-president of the Métropole de Lyon responsible for agriculture, food and regional resilience.
90 actors will mobilize on the occasion of this first edition of the MIAM Festival: restaurants collective or commercial with an organic and local offer, training and research institutes, organic or short-circuit producers, shared garden players, social and solidarity grocery stores.
Four key events
Discover the four flagship events of the Lyon Metropolis as well as the entire program:
- Culture Broth : Central event of the MIAM Festival, it celebrates the diversity of food cultures. This will be held on October 19, 2024 from 2 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Le Faitout third-place, in La Mulatière. Entrance is free and open to all, upon registration.
- Lyon Braderie Festival : As part of the Lyon Braderie Festival, the Métropole de Lyon invites you to discover its stand on October 11, 12 and 13 on Place de la République, within the “food” entertainment center, run by the Ripaï association .
- Screening of the film The Boxer Theory : Meet at the Hôtel de Métropole on Wednesday October 16 at 6:30 p.m., in the presence of director Nathanaël Coste.
- Workshop with Sonia Bichet : Don’t miss the unique workshop led by Sonia Bichet, Best Fish and Shell Worker in France, at the Cité Internationale de la Gastronomie, on Thursday October 24 from 3 p.m.
